I wrote One More Time before I'd even heard of the CERN and the Large Hadron Collider. At that time American physicists were still hoping for their own huge collider, and ground had already been broken in Texas for one that would have been even larger than Europe's. Alas, it was not to be, and the center for particle physics shifted from the USA to Switzerland.I don't believe for a moment that the LHC will create black holes big enough to swallow the earth. Nor will they bring about the fate detailed in my story One More Time. Nor will I or anyone reading this win the lottery. Although as one physicist recently remarked, nothing is at absolute zero probability. Anything can happen.
